Community Partners
“Heist’s” Community Partners are local, regional, and national organizations doing critical work in economic, environmental and social justice whose missions we share to improve quality of life of all poor and middle class Americans, to support local, vibrant economies and to preserve the planet by harnessing green energy.
A multi-issue national organization, Demos combines research, policy development and advocacy to influence public debate and catalyze change. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in New York City, Demos works with advocates and policymakers around the country in pursuit of three overarching goals:
A more equitable economy with opportunity for all; a robust democracy in which all Americans are empowered to participate; a strong public sector that can provide for our common interests and shared needs.
Agit Pop Communications - An award-winning net-roots subvertising agency which delivers cutting edge videos, widgets, and boots-on-the-ground guerilla marketing to progressive campaigns.
Bay Localize - Bay Localize inspires and supports Bay Area residents in building equitable, resilient communities, confronting the challenges of climate instability, rising energy costs, and recession by boosting our region's capacity to provide for everyone's needs, sustainably and equitably.
The Other 98% - The Other 98% is a grassroots network of concerned citizens standing against Big Money and corporate lobbyists to make our democracy work for the rest of us.
US Uncut - US Uncut is a grassroots movement taking direct action against corporate tax cheats and unnecessary and unfair public service cuts across the U.S. Washington's proposed budget for the coming year sends a clear message: The wrath of budget cuts will fall upon the shoulders of hard-working Americans.
Five Steps Forward Media is a group of professionals dedicated to the progressive cause. By hiring us for your media needs you are helping build an alternative information infrastructure outside the mainstream corporate press. We live stream events and film, edit, and produce videos for your website, training, presentation, and fundraising needs.
Strengthen Social Security…don't cut it. We stand together in support of Social Security, a promise made to Americans of all generations. Social Security represents the best of American values — reward for hard work, honoring our parents and caring for our neighbors. Social Security belongs to the workers and their families who have worked hard, paid taxes in, and earned its benefits. Social Security did not cause the federal deficit, and its benefits should not be cut to reduce the deficit. The federal government found the money to bail out Wall Street; it must find the money to pay what it owes to Social Security. Today's and tomorrow's beneficiaries – children, people with disabilities, widows, widowers, and retired workers – deserve no less.
The California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that unites retired workers and community groups to win social and economic justice, full civil rights, and a better, more secure future for ourselves, our families, and future generations.
Interested in becoming a Community partner of “Heist?” Our growing group of partners will provide critical support around promotion of the movie and Outreach and Engagement Campaign, which is being developed to educate audiences about the state of the U.S. economy, how we got here, and what we can do about it. The movie is an invaluable tool for partners to engage their constituents and spread awareness around critical economic issues. We will also be providing short video modules; resource materials; a vibrant interactive online campaign for crowd sourcing and information sharing; and information about screenings around the country.
Community Partners will receive logo and link placement on the www.heist-themovie.com website, promotion of initiatives and activities, visibility on our social media networks, and recognition in our newsletters. In exchange Community Partners also cross link to our website, post about the project online and in newsletters, and help connect us to individuals and organizations interested in our mutual causes.
Please email infoheistmovie@gmail.com for more information about becoming a Community Partner of "Heist."
